Obituary

Margaret "Peg"(Farley) Arena, of Scituate, surrounded by family, Peg entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, to join her brother Hank Farley. Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Anthony F. Arena and their children, Grace Monahan, (Jim Monahan), Meg Girouard (husband Ken), Nancy Arena (husband Mike Abbruzzese), and Anthony M. Arena (wife Michelle), as well as her grandchildren Caitlin Monahan, Drew Girouard and Brie Girouard.

Peg summered in Scituate as a child and eventually settled there to raise her family. A graduate of Framingham State College, Peg worked in the Weymouth School System as a Home Economics and Science Teacher for 20 years. Peg's favorite things to do were to stay up late, watch crime shows, and eat Gummi Bears and anything butterscotch flavored. Known for her cooking, she was famous for her Grilled Cheese with mustard, her "Special" bread pudding, Apple Crisp, and lastly, the unbelievable talent of making 6 sandwiches from one can of Deviled Ham.

Practical and full of humor right to the end, Peg will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren, her feistiness, and her "no nonsense" attitude.

Her family would also like to thank the entire MICU Staff at South Shore Hospital for their tireless, compassionate care.

Please join us in celebrating her life at St Mary's Church, Scituate Harbor , MA on Saturday, April 25th, Mass at 10 am followed by a reception at the Parish Center. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to www.cmtausa.org , an organization that raises awareness of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease and funds research to find a cure.
