Margaret M. (Reagan) O'Donnell, age 92, of Scituate, died peacefully at her home with family at her side on Jan. 6, 2011. Born in Cambridge to the late Francis Joseph and Florence Reagan, sister of the late Florence Reagan, "Peggy" graduated from St. John's High School, North Cambridge and was a graduate of Emmanuel College, Class of 1939. Wife of the late Patrick R. O'Donnell, she is survived by her children Patrick of Boston, Kathleen Field and her husband Stephen of Scituate, Terrence and his wife Deborah of Scituate, Margaret Ann Turner and husband Ric of Scituate, Maureen Ketterer and her husband Christopher of Plymouth and Colleen Lewis and her husband James of Scituate. "Grammy" is also survived by her loving grandchildren Meghan, Caitlin, Erin, Michael, Christopher, Kelly, Bryan, David, Jaime, Ryan, Matthew, Jared, Sean, Corey, Margaret, Seamus, Nora and eleven great-grandchildren.

A North Scituate resident since 1950. Margaret has had a child or grandchild in the Scituate schools without interruption since 1950. A friend, mentor and guide to many, she was a summer fixture at Minot Beach, a golfer at Scituate Country Club, a serious card player with friends, a spirited Scituate sports booster and a Boston Red Sox fan since childhood. A lifelong teacher, Margaret retired from the Cushing Hall School in Scituate in 1985.

Visiting hours

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at The McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA.

In lieu of flowers, Margaret wishes to have donations made in her memory to the Scituate Food pantry, 344 Country Way, Scituate, MA.

Service Information

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 129 South Main St., Cohasset followed by interment at Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate, MA.
