Maria Lurdes Silva (1961–2026)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Lurdes Silva, who departed this life peacefully on February 22, 2026, at the age of 64.

Maria was born on March 27, 1961, in Courelas, Portugal the beloved daughter of Valentim and Irene Gaspar.

She was the devoted wife of Fernando for 46 years and a loving mother to Melissa and Jessica. Maria was a proud and cherished grandmother to four grandchildren, Cora, Selene, Kolton, and Massimo, whom she loved deeply.

Maria worked for many years as a real estate agent, broker, and investor. She also served the healthcare community as a medical assistant for several years. She had a generous spirit and found joy in helping others.

Maria’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always.

A Mass in her honor will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Newark on March 2, 2026, at 7:30 PM.
