Marie V. (Anderson) Tobin-Peterson, age 68, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Bingham, ME. & Cohasset, MA., died on Earth Day, April 22, 2010 peacefully surrounded by her family after a long illness. Marie was the loving and devoted mother of Thomas P. Tobin of West Yarmouth; Michael S. Tobin of Plymouth; Brian C. Tobin of Plymouth; Brenda M. Tobin-Flood of Sandwich. She was the beloved sister of Michael F. Anderson of Norwell; Barbara T. Welsh of New Hampshire; Dorothy Woodruff of Maine; Kathy Hicks of Florida; Karen O'Brien of Carver, MA; Stephen Anderson of Carver, MA; and the late Patricia Gallagher of Scituate and Christine Anderson of Hull. Marie is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Marie was a graduate of Cohasset High School, Class of 1959. She was an avid outdoorswoman, who hiked many mountains, loved her cabin in Maine and hiked the Appalachain Mountain Trail in its entirety. Marie was first and foremost a dedicated and devoted mother.

Visiting hours Sunday, May 2 from 4-8 pm at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony's Church), Cohasset.

Service Information

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 10 am in St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset.
