Marie W. (Byrne) McDermott, age 92, of Scituate, formerly of Dorchester, died peacefully at home on May 17, 2018. Beloved wife of the late James F. McDermott. Devoted mother of Ann McDermott of Texas, Joan Harrigan and husband Mark of Scituate, and James McDermott and wife MaryBeth of Milton. Daughter of the late John and Mary Byrne. Sister of the late John "Jack" Byrne and Ann Ravino. Cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marie was a long time administrative assistant to Robert Macomber, Esq. She loved gardening, piano and dancing.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marie on Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 2-6 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Marie may be made to St. Paul's Choir School, 29 Mt. Auburn St., Cambridge, MA. 02138.
