Marilyn F. (Allen) Kelley, age 78, of Weymouth passed away peacefully with dignity and grace at her son's home on August 27, 2011 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of William J. Kelley for 56 years. A wonderfully devoted mother of seven children, Christopher and wife Dorothy of East Bridgewater, Colette and husband John of Clearwater, FL, Paul of Naples, FL, Mark and wife Lynne and Greg and wife Diane both of Hopkinton, Carl and wife Megan of Jamaica Plain and Valerie and husband Jesse of Stoughton. She was also the very proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, Sean, Lindsay, Arielle, Alexa, Ian, Megan, Amanda, Connor, Aidan and Finn.
Born and raised in Dorchester, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Michael and Frances Allen and sister to Richard Allen and wife Delores of Vernon, CT, and Robert Allen of Hingham.
She was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in Dorchester and earned her bachelor degree in education from Boston State College. Marilyn will especially miss the reunions with her St. Gregory classmates at the Common Market in Quincy.
After marrying and devoting years to her family, she worked as a dedicated substitute teacher in the Weymouth Public School system and enjoyed her many assignments at the Ralph Talbot Elementary School.
Marilyn was an ardent supporter of Saint Albert the Great Church in Weymouth and served as a volunteer and Eucharistic minister for many years.
She loved her children deeply and passed on to them her enduring strength, compassion and perseverance.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service celebrating Marilyn's life to be held on Thursday, September 1st at 10:00am at Saint Albert the Great Parish, 1130 Washington St., East Weymouth, MA 02189.
