Marilyn Teagan Keane, age 81, of Boston, Cohasset, and Palm Beach passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 2, 2015 in her Cohasset home. Beloved wife of John F. Keane Sr. for 56 years, Marilyn is best defined and cherished by her family for being "Mom" and "Grammy Marilyn". She devoted her life to her family and their well-being. She was an active member of the community and a strong advocate of education and the arts. She was a Board member at the Boys and Girls Club of Boston and involved at the Museum of Fine Arts and WGBH in Boston. Marilyn was a graduate of Tufts University, Class of 1955 and worked at IBM Corp. as a Systems Engineer prior to beginning a family.
Marilyn was devoted mother of John F. Keane Jr. and wife Anne Marie of Vail, CO, Brian Keane and wife Beth of Weston, MA, and Victoire Keane Lang and husband Ken of Weston, MA. Sister of Peter Teagan of Acton, MA and Mark Teagan of Florida, the late John Teagan, and the late Robert Teagan. Adoring grandmother of Jack, Brendan, Patrick, Kaitlin, Sarah, Alex, Victoire, Marin, Christopher, Julia, Grace and Claire.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, January 12 at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home (160 South Main Street, Cohasset, across from St. Anthony Church). A funeral service will follow at 6 pm in St. Anthony Church. For her Boston friends, a second Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 11 am in the Story Chapel, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Marilyn's honor to the Boys and Girls Club of Boston (50 Congress Street, #730, Boston, MA 02109).
