Martha E. Hurtig (nee Johnson), 91, of Cohasset passed away peacefully Thursday, June 6, 2024. Martha was born May 2, 1933 in Woburn, MA to Karin and Carl Johnson, emigres from Sweden, and grew up in Boston's Hyde Park. She was an avid quilter, knitter, and gardener, and enjoyed traveling and visiting family in the United States and Sweden. She was the loving widow of Carl R. Hurtig, married for 59 years. She is survived by her children, Carol and her husband Val Kratzman, Carl Walter and his wife Deanna, Paul and his wife Deborah, Eric, and Sally and her husband Nicholas Taylor, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be planned for a future date.
