Mary Jo (Finnegan) Gallivan, RN., age 79, of Scituate formerly of Newburgh, NY., passed away on October 10, 2015. Beloved wife of Francis X. Gallivan and devoted mother of Kathleen Holmquest and husband Christopher of Marshfield, Kerry Igo and husband Paul of Sandwich, Andrew F. Gallivan and wife Mary of New Windsor, NY., Megan Quinn and husband Robert of Scituate. Sister of Katherine Barrett of CT., Claire Shea of North Carolina,  Noreen Murphy of CT., Eleanor Aufman of CT., and Regina Flynn of IL. Cherished grandmother of Brian, Sean, and Kyra Holmquest, Shannon, Kelsey, and Michaela Igo, Drew, Meghan, and Caroline Gallivan, Colin and Liam Quinn.

Mrs. Gallivan was a graduate of the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing and worked as the Director of Nursing at the Arden Hill Life Care Center in Goshen, NY. Mary Jo was happiest spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting hour Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 from 4-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, MA. 02025. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mary Jo may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA. 02061.
