Mary Jane Webb, age 75, longtime resident of Scituate, passed away on December 27, 2013 after a brief illness. Beloved wife of John Powers Webb (deceased) and devoted mother of Kristen Webb, Kara Webb, and Seth Webb, loving grandmother to her three grandsons, Jack, Henry and John Michael and the adored "Aunt Mary" to many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Monsignor Michael Groden also of Scituate, and sisters Kathleen Meskell of Concord, MA and Ellen Dalton of Hancock, NH.

Until her recent retirement, Mary worked as a clinical laboratory histologist for over 40 years, beginning her career at the Mallory Institute of Pathology at Boston City Hospital, then on to Boston University Medical Center and most recently at South Shore Hospital where she was employed for 25+ years. Mary was an avid gardener and loved animals, most especially her golden retriever Dickens and a very special rescue dog named Bitsy.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor. Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following mass at PJ's Country House Restaurant at 227 Chief Justice Cushing Highway (Rte 3A) in Scituate. Interment private.
