Mary M. Grassie, age 94, of Cohasset, passed peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 after a long illness. A beloved daughter of Antonio and Maria Laura Mello, she was born, raised, and attended school in Cohasset.

She was the beloved wife of 47 years of the late Clarence M. "Kelly" Grassie and the loving mother of Lanier Grassie of Cohasset. She was the loving sister of Augustine Mello of Lake Village, Arkansas, John L. Mello of Cohasset, Elizabeth T. Longo of Cohasset, and Eileen Tyerar of Scituate and the late Angelina M. Garrrett of Fray, NY, the late Ida M. Fortier of Cohasset, and the late Francis Mello of Hingham.

A retiree of F.W. Woolworth Co., she enjoyed cooking, reading, and traveling. She will be lovingly remembered and missed y all, especially her many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 4-7 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony's Church), Cohasset.

Service Information

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset, where Mary was a lifelong communicant.

Interment Woodside Cemetery.
