Mary Ann (O'Brien) McDonald, age 79, of Hingham, passed away on August 2, 2018 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Mrs. McDonald was the beloved wife of the late James R. McDonald. Loving mother of James McDonald of Hingham, Kathleen McDonald-Costa and husband William of Hull, and John S. McDonald and wife Paulina of Hingham. Adoring grandmother of John V. McDonald, Hope Marie McDonald, Christopher McDonald and Rose McDonald all of Hingham. Sister of John J. O'Brien and his wife Joan of Hingham. Aunt of Christine, Ann Marie and Jean, as well as many nieces and nephews on the McDonald side. Mary is survived by her brother in law John McDonald of Arlington.

Mary was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid knitter and needle-pointer.

Family and friends are invited to celebrated Mary during visiting hours Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 from 9:30-11:30 am in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 160 So. Main St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset, MA. 02025. A graveside service will follow at 12 noon in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
