Mary Josephine (Robertson) Kennedy
She was the best she could be at all that she could do.

Mary Kennedy, 77, of Cohasset, MA, died peacefully surrounded by her family, husband Don, daughter Jocelyn, and son Ben.

Born in Dorchester, MA, Mary was the daughter of the late Francis Robertson and Mary (Messina) Robertson .  She attended Jeremiah E. Burke School in Dorchester, graduating in 1954.  She married Donald B. Kennedy June 4, 1960 and they have lived in Cohasset since 1965.

After graduating from Boston State Teachers' College in 1958, Mary taught 5th/ 6th grade.  She worked at the Boston Globe and taught at Quincy Junior College.  She earned her Masters at Boston University and enjoyed teaching at Northeastern University, Boston University, Showa Boston Institute for Languages, and most recently, Suffolk University.  She also became a tour director, fulfilling her passion for traveling the globe.

Mary will be remembered locally as the Carilloneur at St. Stephen's Church in Cohasset, MA, and was an avid pianist since childhood.  She loved classical music, was a musical enthusiast and attended the theatre as often as she could.

Mary leaves behind a daughter Jocelyn Kennedy Langford and husband Craig of Charleston, SC, and son Benjamin Kennedy, wife Laura, and grand-daughters, Elle, Annaliese, and Celia residing in Hunters Hill, NSW, Australia, sister Frances Hale and husband Ken, and brother Joseph Robertson and wife Pauline, as well as extended family and friends.

She was truly an inspiration to many and had an insatiable zest for life.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The St. Stephen's Carillon of Cohasset.  A service will be held at St. Stephen's Church in Cohasset on March 4, at 4:00PM.
