Mary Bryan Stenbeck, age 91, of Hingham, died on December 17, 2010 at South Shore Hospital. Born in Woodstock, VT, the daughter of the late Margaret and Robert Bryan of Scituate, she was the wife of the late H. Victor Stenbeck of Scituate and had resided in Scituate, Duxbury, and Cohasset. Mrs. Stenbeck worked for many years in Boston and at Instron Corporation in Canton. She was also a soloist and choir director for many years at various churches on the South Shore.
During World War II, while living and working in Boston, Mrs. Stenbeck was affiliated with the American Theater Wing and spent several evenings each week for the duration of the way entertaining servicemen at military hospitals all over New England.
Mrs. Stenbeck was the beloved mother, mother-in-law and grandmother of Ann Stenbeck and Peter Cundall and their sons, Jeremy and Ian of Cohasset and Lynn and Jack Keller of Bayview, TX, as well as the beloved sister of Jean Lawrence of Southburg, CT.
