Mary Lynne (Sturgeon) Zappolo 91, of Cohasset, passed away on November 2, 2025 comfortably at Sunrise Assisted Living with family by her side after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Lynne, born in Queens, New York February 28, 1934, the daughter of Victor and Viola Sturgeon, was the wife of Michael J. 'Mickey' Zappolo who passed in 2019. Lynne is predeceased by her older brother John Sturgeon of Bayshore, New York. She leaves behind her two sons, Gregory M. Zappolo (of Scituate) and Michael D. Zappolo of Cohasset. Lynne also says farewell to Nancy Laue Zappolo, her loyal advocate and the daughter she never had, her loving daughter-in-law Sandra Zappolo, her grandchildren Nick Zappolo of Hanover and his wife Molly, Michael S. Zappolo of Whitman, Carley Ratliff of Braintree and her husband Chesley, Lindsay Zappolo of Worcester and four great grandchildren James, Mia, William and Caden.

Lynne went to business for RCA in Rockefeller Center before marrying the love of her life Mickey Zappolo of Beechhurst, Queens, New York Sept. 1, 1956. Always the fashionista, she was a happy upbeat person who was loved and will be remembered fondly by many. She was also a wonderful athlete, having been a ballerina from a young age. Lynne and Mickey taught skiing for 13 Years at Mount Snow and Haystack Mountain in Vermont, giving hundreds of skiers their start in the sport. They played tennis and golf together as longtime members at Cohasset Golf Club. Lynne's truest legacy lives on in the love and devotion she poured into nurturing and caring for her grandchildren.

A private memorial will be held at a future date. The family will be forever grateful to the loving caregivers at Sunrise. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
