Michael E. Darst, of Cohasset, MA, passed away on December 30, 2022. He was 71-year-old.

Born to Josephine and Eddens Darst in Arlington, Virginia, Michael attended schools in Ohio, Florida, Nebraska, New Jersey, Hawaii, as well as Amsterdam and  Japan, before graduating from McLean High School in McLean, Virginia. He then earned a business degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Michael had a successful career as a sales executive, working for Raytheon, Panasonic, and Lanier, and then started his own sales consulting business, Darst and Associates, Inc. Later, he took up real estate and joined Darst Properties, LLC where he thoroughly enjoyed helping buyers and sellers as the company's busiest broker.

When his children were young, Michael loved coaching their sports teams. As they grew up, he was at every practice, game, tournament, regatta, meet or event to cheer them on. He loved spending time in his yard and always had a landscaping project in progress. His goal was  to create beautiful spaces for us to enjoy. His family will miss his Sunday night and holiday dinners, which always included great food and lively conversations. In 2022 he was overjoyed to welcome his granddaughter Ellie into the world and was honored to be her "Grumpy".

Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy Lee Darst, children Annie Darst, Rick and Christina Darst, granddaughter Ellie Darst, and sister Carolyn Higgins.
