Michael Edward Gorman

Montgomery, Texas – Michael E. Gorman died peacefully at his home on October 19, 2023, at age 74, after a long illness, with his wife Beth by his side. He was born on September 28, 1949 in Cambridge, MA to his late parents, Walter E. and Ruth M.  (Davenport) Gorman.

Michael graduated from Scituate High School Class of 1967. He moved with his family from Belmont, and then Bedford MA in his senior year. For most young men, this would have been a tough transition, but for Michael, he flourished in his new environment.

After high school, he joined the United States Coast Guard where he was fortunate enough to serve in his hometown of Scituate. Shortly after, he married his high school sweetheart, Ann F. Gorman of Cohasset, who has since passed.

Since then, he served in many successful sales positions, leveraging his great looks, personality, and smile.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Beth) Gorman of Montgomery Texas, his baby sister Susan (Gorman) Baize North of Scituate, MA and Fort Lauderdale, and his sons Michael Gorman Jr. of Weymouth, Matthew Gorman and his wife Adrienne of Scituate; he is predeceased by his son, Mark Gorman of Scituate. His younger brother Stephen E. Gorman of Weymouth would pass away only 7 months later.  He leaves his grandchildren Vivienne and Crew Gorman of Scituate MA, Kaley Gorman of Dorchester, and Taylor Gorman of Barrington, Rhode Island. He also leaves a son, Ryan Gorman of Montgomery, Texas, from a previous marriage, and many nieces and nephews.

Michael moved to Texas to enjoy the warm weather and daily golfing, which he was passionate about. His vibrant personality attracted everyone in his perimeter as he laughed heartily at himself with his outrageous wit and energy.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of Jesus and his pre-deceased family and friends.
