Michael Wadsworth Hallaren, age 75, of Medford, MA., passed away on April 15, 2025 at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, MA., after a brief illness.

Mike was born and raised in Norwell, MA with his eleven siblings. He was the son of the the late Elizabeth Wadsworth Hallaren of Norwell and William David Hallaren, Sr. of Hanover, MA. He attended Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA, and graduated from Norwell High School in 1967. He majored in art, attending both the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and Mass College of Art and Design in Boston, MA.

Mike leaves his siblings William D Hallaren Jr., Elizabeth Hurley and her former husband, Ronald Hurley, Jeremiah Hallaren and his wife Joanna, Mary Alice Hallaren and her wife Kathleen Hennessey, Christopher Hallaren and his wife Susan, Theresa Folan and her late husband, Shaun Folan, Joan Hallaren, and John Hallaren and his wife Elena, as well as his three late siblings, Paul, Kate, and Patrick Hallaren.

His also leaves his nieces and nephews Lisa Hallaren, Meghan Leary and her husband Dennis, Emily Hurley, Abby, Christopher, Elissa, Adlai, Jessica, Timothy, Samuel and Mathew Hallaren, Seamus Folan, and Niamh and Evelyn Hallaren, as well as several grand niece and nephews.

Mike was a talented artist and passionate about his art. He generously gave his paintings to family members and friends, as well as new acquaintances with whom he felt a special bond.

Mike possessed a memorable sense of humor throughout his life, despite his health challenges. He was loved by all who cared for him, and knew him. His lively, colorful personality was enjoyed by all, never to be forgotten. Mike was a special brother, who loved his family dearly, and was especially attentive to his younger siblings who remember all the books and poems he wrote and pictures he drew and painted for them.

His family will hold a graveside memorial service for Mike on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 2PM  at the Church Hill Cemetery, on Common Ave. in Norwell Mass, where he will be buried with his three late siblings. Relatives and friends invited to attend.  Since Mike had a lifelong passion and respect for Marilyn Monroe, we have chosen this date to honor Mike, celebrating him on her birthday.
