Michael J. O'Malley, Jr.

Michael Joseph O’Malley, Jr., 45, of Hingham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026.

Born on April 1, 1980, Michael was raised in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a deep love for family and the community. He attended Longmeadow High School, where he excelled at soccer all four years and continued to play collegiately.

Michael began building his hospitality career at O’Hara’s Restaurant in Newton, Massachusetts, where he valued the mentorship and friendship of its owners. He most recently served as Catering Manager at Cranberry Vines in Pembroke, Massachusetts, where he was set apart by a friendly personality, natural ability to connect with others, and unwavering work ethic. Mike was a friend to all.

He was the beloved son of Michael and Linda O’Malley and the devoted brother of Kelly Elio and her husband, Matthew, of Hingham, Massachusetts; William O’Malley and his wife, Gina, of Rye, New Hampshire; Patrick O’Malley and his wife, Lauren, of Hingham, Massachusetts; and Kerry Baldwin and her husband, Blake, of Scituate, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind his loving companion, Karen, of Marshfield, Massachusetts.

Above all, Michael was defined by his love for his family and his extraordinary generosity. Everyone who knew Mike understood that he was the one who’d gladly give you the shirt off his back — and, on more than one occasion, he did. He was always the one to check in, see how you were doing, and remember your birthday. He placed the needs of others before his own and remained fiercely loyal to those he loved. He was a proud and devoted uncle to Connor, Kate, Brennan, and Brady Elio, and to Teddy, Neely, Bo, and Lola Baldwin, each of whom brought him immense joy.

Michael’s kindness and steady presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Though his passing leaves a profound void, his memory will live on in the stories shared and the enduring love of his family and friends.

“Uncle Mike” will be deeply missed and forever loved.
