Nancy Dale Ferreira Damon, 75, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 4, 2026, at the Life Care Center in Scituate, Massachusetts. Her gentle passing marked the close of a life filled with love, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys that made her world bright.
Born in 1950 to Louise E. (Fiekers) Gonsalves and Kenneth Damon Sr., Nancy grew up in a large, close‑knit family and graduated from Cohasset High School in 1969. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Donald Hakkila, Robert “Bobby” Hakkila, Virginia “Ginny” Brown, Kenneth “Kenny” Damon, Dorothy “Dottie” Fiori, and Carol Allen.
Nancy is survived by her loving partner of 12 years, Leo Fiori Jr. She is also survived by Albert Ferreira Jr., her husband from 1978 to 2004.
She leaves behind her two daughters, Katie Ferreira and her partner Ricky Barrow of Cohasset, MA, and Kerry Labo and her husband Thomas Labo of Hanson, MA. Nancy adored her grandchildren—Matthew and Kylie Ferreira, and Madison and Mason Labo—each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Nancy found her greatest peace near the water. The beach and ocean were her sanctuary, and she often said that "salt water cured everything". She loved tending her garden and filling her home with flowers. She enjoyed cooking, music and dancing, reading, and scrapbooking—hobbies that reflected her creativity and her love for making memories last.
Professionally, Nancy worked as a home health aide, offering compassion and support to those in need. Even after retiring, her nurturing nature remained central to who she was.
Nancy will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and her ability to make others feel cared for. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who went before her, and that her legacy lives on in the hearts of the many who loved her.
A private service will be held at Woodside Cemetery, where Nancy will be laid to rest beside her brother, on August 8th, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America at alzfdn.org/
