IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Marie
(Pimental) Shilts
April 10, 1934 – October 15, 2025
Nancy Shilts passed gracefully from our world on October 15, 2025 at home, she was ninety-one.
Nancy was born and grew-up in Falmouth, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of John M. and M. Pauline Pimental. She was one of twelve children.
She subsequently moved to Brookline where she met her future husband, Dr. Leo Shilts. The couple had six children, residing in Hingham and eventually Scituate. Nancy is preceded in death by her late husband. She is survived by her step-daughter Rhonda Leate of Pembroke, son Dr. Kirk and wife Suzette of Hingham, twin daughters Karen Noone of Scituate and Karlyn Tropeano and husband Causie of Colorado, daughter Keely Mingham and husband Brian of Colorado and son Keith and wife Lisa of Pembroke. She, known as "Tutu", is also blessed with ten grandchildren and many great-grand kids.
Nancy had her dream house built in Scituate in 1962 which she remained grounded until her very last breath. Nancy was the neighborhood referee where her back-yard housed an elaborate playground that was in constant use. Once her kids were teenagers, she decided to add a new job working in retail jewelry at the South Shore Plaza. She was always impeccably dressed as well as pointedly bejeweled. Nancy was a long time New England Patriots season ticket holder, traveling to games with a large boisterous crew from Hingham's venerable Ye Old Mill Grille. She could yell and curse with the best of them.
Nancy was a Catholic of devout faith. She raised her children at St. Frances Cabrini in Scituate, & was a member of Sodality. When her church was suddenly closed by the archdiocese, she began with other parishioners a vigil group that occupied the church 24/7 for eleven-years - successfully seeing it remain a religious institution. She enjoyed attending mass at the Glastonbury Abby, most especially the outdoor summertime services.
The family would like to thank the constant care given to Nancy from Samantha Sargent of Cohasset and Becky a nurse from Norwell VNA with her final journey.
