Dr. Nicholas Anthony Manganaro, DMD, of Cohasset, MA died peacefully on July 1, 2022 in Boston, MA, after a complicated illness. He was 82.
Born in Providence, RI, Dr. Manganaro was a proud alumnus of Classical High School, Providence College, and the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from 1964 to 1966 and was stationed at what was then Edgewood Arsenal in Edgewood, MD.
In 1968, he opened a solo dental office in South Weymouth, MA, where he practiced for more than 50 years. He is survived by his wife Jean (née Rinehart), his son Nicholas Paul Manganaro, his sister Elaine Gotjen, his brother-in-law Reginald Gotjen, and his nieces Courtney Gotjen and Jessica Gotjen Seth.
A visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset, on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 2 Summer Street, Cohasset. A brief reception will be held afterward in the church's function hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Scituate Etrusco Associates, a volunteer-run organization that loans, at no charge, durable medical equipment to area residents, and to the South Shore Community Action Council in support of its MAP Transportation Services program, which provides a medical shuttle service for patients in need.
