Nicola Maria Caputo Mortland, age 41, of Scituate, passed away suddenly on December 8, 2011. Nicola was the beloved mother of Kayla Mortland of Scituate and Michael Caputo of Maine. She is survived by her loving father Michael A. Caputo and his spouse, Juanita of Scituate and her loving mother Helena (Schumejko) Wheeler and her spouse, Michael of Maine. She was the loving sister of Maureen Denton, Marianne Richards, Elise Canfield, Christina Fenton, and Anthony Caputo. She is also survived by her eight
loving nieces and nephews and her former husband, James Mortland.

Born in South Boston, Nicky was raised and educated in Scituate. She will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted family.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 10 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor. Visiting hours Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 4-8 pm in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Interment Mt. Hope  Cemetery, Scituate.
