Patricia Ann (Dowd) Galligan, age 77, a lifelong resident of Scituate, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2017. Wife of Edward H. Galligan. Mother of Edward M. Galligan and Sean P. Galligan both of Scituate, Maureen A. Galligan of Hanson and her companion John Cesarini. Grandmother and special friend of Jonathan Cesarini. Sister of Marion Duffey, Helen "Sis" Dowd, Theresa "DeeDee" Collins, Peter Dowd, and Billy Dowd. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends from the coffee shop.

A 1958 SHS graduate, Patty was known for her pep, her personality and her love of life, whether at the many coffee shops where she worked over the years, making her special "Patty cakes" or on the dance floor. She loved to make people smile.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate Harbor, MA. 02066 on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 10 am. Interment private. Visiting hours omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Patty may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
