Patrick Spano passed away suddenly on February 10, 2026 from a serious health condition. Patrick, son of the late Frank and Angelina Spano, was an ethical man who stood strongly by his principles. He had an appreciation for hard work, good humor and his love for his family and friends.
Patrick grew up in Maverick SQ, in East Boston. He attended Mount Carmel Elementary School from 1945-1954, then Boston English High school from 1954-1958. After he graduated from high school, he began working for Boston City Hospital in the dark room. Patrick was accepted into the Radiology program in that same year and worked there as a student. In 1959 he attended night classes at Bryant and Stratton School of Business for Accounting. However he decided that accounting was not the right path for him and decided to stay with the X-RAY. Patrick passed the ARRT exam in 1960. He began as a junior X-RAY tech and eventually worked his way up to Chief X-RAY tech. In 1963 he had met his wife Virginia Protulis, who was a student at the time. November 20, 1965 they were married. Patrick worked for the City of Boston for 38 years.
After his retirement he went on to accept employment with Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, in the ED as an X-RAY tech. He worked there from 1996-2007 (11 years).
