Obituary

Phyllis M. Adair, age 95, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024. Phyllis was the beloved daughter of the late Melbourne and Greta Adair and the sister of the late Marilyn Livingston and her husband the late Thomas Livingston of Norwell. She is survived by her cousins Sharon Sinott and Donald Sinott of Nova Scotia, Canada as well as by her niece, Marcia Holmes and husband Warren of Hanover, nephew David Livingston and wife Nina of Norwell, and family friend, Linda Livingston and her companion, Damian. Phyllis was very close to her brother in law's family, Susan Livingston, Diana Francis, and Patricia Eklund and her great nieces, Jordan Boylan and husband William, Megan Livingston, her great-nephews, Andrew Holmes, Conrad and David Livingston.

Phyllis was a graduate of Girls High School, Class of 1947 and Boston University, Class of 1951. She began a career as an executive secretary working for the Harvard Journal and later the Journal for Bone and Joint Surgery in Needham until her retirement in 1994.

She loved books, especially ones on the Royal Family and History, and going to museums. Phyllis enjoyed many trips to Europe, including Scottland, England, France and Austria.

Visiting hours to celebrate Phyllis will be held in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street (off Rt 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center, MA. 02061 on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 5-7 pm, followed by a service in the funeral home at 7 pm. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 11 am in The Gardens Cemetery Gethsemane, 670 Baker Street, Boston, MA. 02132.
