Obituary
Phyllis M. (Lacouture) Morgan- age 88, of Norwell, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Charles S. Morgan for 62 years, devoted mother of Jennifer A. Morgan of Whitman, MA, Charles E. Morgan and wife Kathryn of Duxbury, MA, Jeffrey S. Morgan and husband Brian Williams of San Francisco, CA, grandmother of Sarah, Benjamin, Ethan, and Andrew Morgan and two great-grandchildren, Grace and Jayden Morgan. Loving sister of Pauline Cantone of North Adams, MA, Sister in Law Jacqueline Lacouture, of Shrewsbury, MA and the late Alphonse Lacouture.
Phyllis was raised in Millbury, MA and graduated from Clark University as one of the first class of women graduates with a degree in teaching. Phyllis worked at the Hingham Public Library for over 15 years.
Phyllis enjoyed traveling with her devoted husband Charles, playing bridge, bowling and most importantly she loved being with her family and expansive group of close friends. To say she was an avid sports fan is an understatement. She knew every well known player and also the not so well known, along with just about every coach and their style. She had an opinion about each and every one and wasn't shy about sharing.
Visiting hours at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell, MA on Tuesday, Aug. 9th, from 4-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 10 am at St. Helen Church, 383 Washington Street, Norwell. Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery, Norwell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Norwell Beautification Committee, Norwell Visiting Nurse, or Beacon Hospice.
