Ralph C. Jackson, age 86, of Eastham, formally of Norwell and Canton, died in peace and with his dignity on October 17, 2012 surrounded by his family. Mr. Jackson died of complications of polio, which he contracted during the great polio epidemic in 1954. He was the husband of the late Babe Bradeen Jackson, who died in 1998.
Born in Buffalo, NY., he was the son of the late Louise Dargh Creswell and George Jackson. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School, Class of 1946. Mr. Jackson had a lifelong career in the banking business, attending the American Institute of Banking and Graduate School of Savings Banks, Brown University. Mr. Jackson was President of the Bank of Canton, a position he was extremely proud of. He was a Freemason for over 55 years.
Ralph leaves his son, Stephen Jackson and his wife, Sandra of Norton, and his daughter Debra Jackson and her husband, Hank Lynch of Scituate. Mr. Jackson has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was awaiting the birth of his third great-grandchild next week. Mr. Jackson leaves his beloved sister Rose Creswell Bardsley of Boylston and a dear friend, Nora Peters of Harwich, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Francis Sigmund and brother Donald Jackson.
The Family requests no flowers; instead we ask that you set aside a time with your family to make a special memory for them to keep in their hearts forever, just as Ralph Jackson did for his children and family. The family would also like to recognize the Eagle Pond Rehabilitation Facility in South Dennis for their magnificent care of Ralph and his family; here is where angels on earth work every day.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 12- 2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St. (off Rt. 123, near State Police Barracks), Norwell Center. Interment Private.
