Rene Vernon Daniels

Rene Daniels, known to many as “Randy” or “Vandy”, passed away on January 14th, 2026 at South Shore Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Rene lived a life full of laughter, hard work, and a deep love for his family. Rene was the fourth of six children born to Natalie and Rene Daniels, and was raised in Hull, MA. He graduated from Wentworth College in Boston, Massachusetts with a degree in Engineering Physics. After college, Rene moved to New York City for his career before settling back on the south shore of Massachusetts with his family. He worked at State Street Bank for most of his career, where he became a mentor and friend to many of his colleagues. Rene was known for his great sense of humor and tremendous work ethic. Those who knew Rene would know that he loved fishing, anything sports affiliated, a good “dad joke”, and most of all, his family and friends. He was an avid traveler and spent two years living in London with his family while working at State Street. He was also a lover of dogs and frequently overfeeding the family dachshunds. Rene is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children Alexa, Nicholas, and Erica; his siblings Pam, Deborah, Bernard, and Tammy; and his mother Natalie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 4-7pm at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, Cohasset.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 10am at St. Anthony’s Church, Cohasset. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment will be private.
