Richard E. Scott, Esquire age 88, of Scituate and Naples, FL, passed away on March 26, 2013. Beloved husband for 65 years of the late Mary G. (Largey) Scott. Cherished father of Ricarda Carfagno and husband, Kenneth of Cohasset; Gregory Scott of Pembroke; Nathaniel Scott of Kingston; Ramona Scott of Wollaston, MA.; Renee Vasile and husband, Samuel of Auburn, NY. Grandfather of Matthew, Patrick, Nicholas, and Julia Scott; Megan and Brian Scott; and Sam Vasile, Jr. Also survived by his loving dog Flower.

Mr. Scott worked for many years as General Counsel to the Gulf Oil Corp. He was the owner of Scott Liquors in Cohasset Village and was a past member of the Cohasset Rotary Club. Mr. Scott was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army Air Corps. He was an avid reader, enjoying labor relations and finance materials.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2013at 12 noon in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Visiting hours Monday, April 1, 2013 from 10 am -12 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (Across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Mr. Scott may be made to the Perkins School for the Blind, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA. 02472.
