Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Rita A. Broderick (nee Henick) passed away at Cardigan Nursing Center in Scituate, MA on Monday, April 29, 2024 next to her loving husband of 73 years, William Broderick.

Rita was born on October 12, 1927 to Margaret and Charles Henick and raised in Melrose, MA, remembering fondly her summers spent on Plum Island. She married William (whom she affectionately referred to as "Billy") and began their family. They raised their two boys, Francis ("Biff") and Patrick in Cohasset, MA, where she worked in the school's administrative offices, before splitting time between Lakeville, MA and Jupiter, FL in later years, relocating back to the South Shore during Covid.

Rita is survived by her loving family. Wife of William Broderick of Scituate, MA. Mother of Francis and his wife Geralyn of Scituate, MA; and Patrick and his wife Maureen of Massena, NY. Grandmother ("Nonnie") of Erin and her husband Jeffrey Caulfield of Scituate, MA; Alyssa and her husband Kevin Merigan of Marshfield, MA; Terence Broderick of Scituate, MA; Brendan Broderick and his fiancée, Emily, of Charleston, SC; and Molly Broderick of Charleston, SC. Great-grandmother of Elle, Callum, and Marlowe. Sister of the late Robert Henick of Melrose, MA. Friend to many.

Family and friends invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, May 9, 2024 between 9:30am-10:45am at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral home-1 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following visitation on Thursday at 11am at St. Anthony's Church, Cohasset. Relatives and friends invited to attend. Interment will be held at Cohasset Central Cemetery.
