Robert G. Cote, age 93, of Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025. Robert was the loving father of Suzanne Marie Henry and her husband Matt of Hanover and was predeceased by a baby boy. Beloved grandfather of Brian A. Hickey and his wife Abigail (Spelman) of California and Sean M. Hickey and his girlfriend Emily Rho of Somerville. Robert was the brother of the late Raymond Cote, Carolyn Bass, and Richard Cote and survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Robert leaves his very best friends Gene LaValley, Maria Silva and Mingo.

Born and raised in Providence, Robert was a graduate of Central High School. He served during the Korean War in the US Army where he was a head cook. Robert later worked for the Narragansett Electric Company as a lineman for many years before starting a 40 year career in Cab Services, where he drove for many companies, but particularly SilverTop Cab. Robert was also a dedicated volunteer at the Rhode Island VA Hospital where he helped many veterans through different roles. He was an artist, historian, avid gardener, snappy dresser, and observer of life. His happiest moments were creating magnificent feasts each holiday surrounded by family.

Per Robert's request, private services will be held at the Rhode Island VA Cemetery. If desired, donations to honor him may be made to the American Cancer Society. Kindly, donate to the American Cancer Society in lieu of any floral purchases, with great thanks from Robert's family.
