Robert H. Herzfelder, who served in the Pacific as a Naval aviator in World War II, then went on to become a senior executive for Sears Roebuck & Co., where he became one of the first Americans to do business in Communist China, died Monday, June 14 after a short illness. He was 86.
Herzfelder was a longtime resident of Lake Forest, Il., but he and his wife moved to Hingham, Ma., in 2008 to be near his children. Herzfelder was also a longtime treasurer of the Lake Foresta
