MANNING, Robert Joseph of Norwell, MA and Naples, FL, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. Retired Boston Globe executive of 40 years. Beloved husband of Eileen F. (Curley) Manning.  Loving father of Kathleen M. and her husband Thomas Balboni of Naples, FL, Robert J. Manning Jr. and his wife Gayle of Medfield, and Timothy B. Manning and his wife Suzanne of Hingham. Cherished "Gramps" to 7 grandchildren, Thomas, Michael, John, Samantha, Lyla, Finley and Phoebe; and also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, and friends.

Son of the late Francis X. and Mary G.  (McCabe) Manning.  Brother of Geraldine M. Halloran (and the late Dennis) of Hanover, Kevin T. Manning (Katina) of Duxbury, and Mary Ann Manning of Naples, FL, and the late Francis X. Manning, Jr. (Kathleen) of Dennis Port.

Visiting Hours will be held at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central Street, Norwell, on Thursday, March 27, from 4–7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 28, at St. Agatha Church, 432 Adams St, Milton, at 10:30 a.m.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be private.
