Robert N. McClellan, of Cohasset, formerly of Norwell on Friday, October 1, at South Shore Hospital after a lengthy illness. The son of Robert and Helen, he graduated from Needham High School and Boston University, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. For most of his career he ran the family company, Robert N. McClellan and Son, whose trademark product, Bovung organic fertilizer, has been popular in the Eastern U.S. since 1936. An avid traveler, gardener, reader, writer and cruciverbalist, he published accounts of his travels in local newspapers.

Mr. McClellan is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Maria; his sisters Barbara and Virginia; 7 children, Jonathan, Gwen, Timothy, Sam, Ian, Christian, Angela, and his step-son Jimmy; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
