Robert P. Takacs- age 67, of Scituate, formerly of Norwalk, CT, passed away on January 12, 2012. Beloved husband of Margaret C. (Martin). Loving father of Jennifer T. Fleming and husband, Michael of Hull, Moira L. Sadler and her husband, Michael of Plymouth, Erin P. Wolstencroft and her husband, Michael of Salem. Grandfather of Bridget and Veronica Fleming and Cameron and Katelyn Sadler. Brother of Louis A. Takacs Jr. of Framingham and Donald K. of Redding, CT., and the late Frederick and Graham.

Born and raised in Norwalk, CT., Mr. Takacs was a graduate of Boston College, College of Arts and Sciences, Class of 1966 and held a Masters of Education from Boston College. He taught the visually impaired at the start and end of his career, and for over 30 years he worked for the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind; he retired as the Deputy Commissioner.  Upon retirement, he worked with visually impaired children throughout the South Shore and the Boston Public Schools.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012 in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset at 11 am. Visiting hours Sunday Jan. 15 from 2-6 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (Across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Takacs' memory may be made to the Catholic Charities of Boston, 51 Sleeper St., Boston, MA. 02210.
