Rocco F. Laugelle, age 82, of Cohasset, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 19, 2010. Born and raised in Cohasset, Rocco was a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post, Cohasset. Rocco served as Selectman of Cohasset for 15 years, from 1979 to 1994 and on Water & Sewer Commission of Cohasset for 12 years. He also was on the Norfolk County Advisory Board and was an employee of Brockton Edison for 42 years.

Rocco was the husband of the late Margaret J. (Noble) and the longtime companion of Elizabeth "Betty" White of Quincy. He was the devoted father of Paul J. Cohasset; Sean P. of Weymouth; Meka-Mari Carmody and her husband, Orion of Cohasset; and the late Lisa Ann Laugelle, Cohasset. Rocco was the beloved grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 2. Brother of Ann Blackmon of RI; Lucy Spognardi of Quincy, Joseph Laugelle; Peter Laugelle and his wife, Patricia; Pauline Litchfield of Cohasset; the late Louis and Anthony Laugelle, Barbara Thayer, Rose Pape of Cohasset, Mary Theberge of Jamaica Plain and Josephine Nicholls of Roslindale. Rocco was the father-in-law of Karen Laugelle of Cohasset and Rina Laugelle of Weymouth.

Service Information

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday Dec. 29, 2010 at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset.

Interment with Marine Corps Honors in Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
