Ronald R. McGinnity, Sr., age 77, of Scituate. Passed away on Aug 1, 2013 peacefully. Loving husband of Marylu  (Kennedy) McGinnity. Loving father of Kathleen McGinnity of Quincy, Ronald McGinnity Jr. and wife Eleanor of Kingston, and Greg McGinnity of Scituate. Beloved grandfather of Ronald McGinnity, III of Quincy, and Garrett and Rachele McGinnity of Carver. Great Grandfather of Jolee Christine McGinnity and Mia Lu McGinnity. Ron was the son of the late Bernard M. and Alice M. (Sullivan) McGinnity. He is the brother of Bernie McGinnity and wife Jean of NH, Walter McGinnity of Arlington, George McGinnity and wife Ann of Arlington, Alice (McGinnity) Fitzgerald and husband Kevin of Winchester. Nephew of Barbara Whitney and George & Miggy Sullivan. He is also survived by his in laws, Robert & Kathleen Pillsbury, Richie & the late Barbara Cooney and the late Bob & Carol Burns, as well as his loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Ron worked as a Civil Engineer for over 55 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He served in the US Navy, stationed in Key West. Ron also spent much of his time with the Scituate Youth Center.

A Celebration of Ron's Life and Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at 11 am in St. Anthony Church, Cohasset. Interment private.
