Rosalind Jane (Stone) DeMello, born on May 10, 1914, passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on June 18, 2011 at the Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Care Facility where she had resided for two and a half years.

Rosalind was the beloved wife of Alfred Leo DeMello. They were married on December 31, 1936. Alfred passed in 1968. She leaves her son Raymond, his wife Dianne of Augusta Maine and their six children,  and her daughter, Mary Jane and her husband Steve of Kingston and their two children. She was the beloved mother of the late  Richard Leo DeMello and leaves his wife Julie and their four children. She has 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Rosalind grew up in Scituate and Melrose. It was the town of Scituate that was her real love and where she and Alfred settled once married. They built their own house in Scituate on SeaView Avenue. She and Alfred loved to play cards and to have friends over. They loved their summer time cook outs in the back yard especially over Labor Day when the Sand Hills came alive with its Labor Day celebration. After Alfred passed, her brother Jack Stone moved in with her and her  daughter. Jack and Roz lived together for 33 years. They were the dynamic duo in their elder years, going shopping together, going to lunch, taking rides around the Lighthouse. She was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune where she would try and guess the answers. She loved seeing her grandchildren. She truly loved her town of Scituate. She will be missed by her family and friends.
