Roseann Dooley

Roseann Dooley, age 100, of Cohasset, passed away on June 17, 2026. Born in Cambridge MA on February 4, 1926, Rose was the youngest daughter of Eugene and Ellen (Coleman) Flanagan. Rose was predeceased by her three brothers and four sisters.

Loving wife of the late Joseph R. Dooley, Sr, for 53 years. Rose and Joe raised their family first in Canton, MA before moving to Cohasset in 1968. They enjoyed many years in Cohasset before retiring to Dennis in 1993. In 2001, Rose returned to Cohasset after Joe’s passing before moving to the Residence at Penniman Hill in December 2024.

Longtime employee of the Cohasset Public School System. A lifelong Boston sports fan, especially her beloved Red Sox, Rose was a talented knitter who shared her many talents with others. Rose and Joe enjoyed many trips together especially to Ireland and loved wintering in Naples FL. Spending time with family was Rose’s greatest treasure and her family has many wonderful memories of time spent with her.

Survived by her son Richard of Atlanta, Ga; Dennis and his wife Diane of Cohasset; Joseph and his wife Kieli of Scituate, Maryanne Grady and her husband Sean of Ohio; Tom and his wife Ann of Cohasset; Kevin and his wife Lisa of Marshfield. Predeceased by her daughter Jean Wagner and husband Carl of Scituate/Marshfield. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at McNamara-Sparrell, One Summer Street, Cohasset 9:00 to 10:30 am followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
