Sallie Jardim of Scituate, a dear friend to many, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024.   She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred P. Jardim with whom she shared almost 48 years of marriage before his passing in 2006.  She was 92.

Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late George and Estelle Cunningham.  After graduating from Somerville High School, she went to Salem State College and later on in life received her Masters degree from Bridgewater State College.  Sallie guided countless children through endless adventures for decades as a dedicated teacher and a school librarian.  She was a lifelong bibliophile, and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, intelligence and her keen sense of wit.

Sallie survived by her brother Harold Cunningham of Wilmington, Mass.  She was the devoted mother of Brett Jardim (late) and his wife Gail of Scituate, Bruce Jardim and his wife Sheila of Carver, Carol J. O'Neill and her partner Bob Spidell of Holliston, and Patricia J. Reilly and her husband Gregg of Marshfield.  She was the cherished grandmother of Peter, Andrew, Dylan, Kate, Audrey, Emily, Kevin and Brett and great grandmother to Lucia and Roselia.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 9:30am-12:30pm at the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home-1 Summer Street, Cohasset. A Prayer Service will be held promptly at 12:30pm.
