Sheila A.  (Ryan) Barnicoat, age 80, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2012 at South Shore Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Braintree on Oct. 15, 1931, she attended Sacred Heart School in Weymouth. Sheila was an avid cook and devoted homemaker, but above all a beloved mother, and adored grandmother.

Sheila was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Ryan. The beloved wife of the late Nelson W. Barnicoat, Jr., she is survived by her children; John Barnicoat of Weymouth, Steven Barnicoat of Halifax, Kevin Barnicoat of Halifax, and Karen Long of Hanover, as well as her adoring grandchildren, Matt, Leah, Kayla, Emily, Cory, and Brady. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and her sister Virginia Colletti of Duxbury.
