Stephen Edward Gorman

Weymouth, MA – Stephen E. Gorman died unexpectedly May 7, 2024, at his home in Weymouth, at age 73. He was born December 16, 1950, in Boston, the son of the late Walter E. and Ruth M. (Davenport) Gorman.

Stephen graduated from Scituate High School, Class of 1968, as a stand-out athlete in football, wrestling and track.  Following graduation, he served in the US Army Reserves and later  graduated from Bently College with a  degree in accounting.

He served in various leadership roles in business and sales. He found his niche as a mortgage broker before retiring.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his big brother Michael, who passed only 7 months before him and his brother-in-law Dennis Baize. The two brothers were very close growing up, and his love for Dennis was very special. He was devastated by the loss of both.

He is survived by his baby sister Susan (Gorman) Baize North of Scituate and Fort Lauderdale; his loving daughters, Jessica Gorman of Portsmouth, NH and Christine Gorman of Kansas City, MO.;  and his  nephews, Michael Gorman Jr., of Weymouth, Matthew Gorman of Scituate, and Sean Baize of Canton. He also leaves his dear friend, Toni Jo Perkins,  of Portsmouth, NH, his former wife and mother of his children.

Stephen loved cooking, boating, and the beach. He lived many years in NH, Scituate, MA  and the Vineyard.  He traveled extensively and loved dressing for the occasion. Stephen was well known for his witty humor and sarcasm. He loved the NE Patriots (especially Tom Brady)  and politics, and never walked away from  a good debate about either one.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of Jesus and his pre-deceased family and friends.
