Susan Rich Vail, age 72, of Wareham, formerly of Norwell, passed away in her sleep on Sunday April 12th, 2015 after a terminal illness.
Sue grew up in Needham, Ma. and attended business school in Boston, Ma. She was married for 44 years to the late Norman Vail and raised their family in Norwell. Sue and Norm ran a successful business called Avail Appliance on the South Shore for over 20 years.
Sue was a beautiful loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was a strong-willed woman who fought her illness with grace and dignity. She had many joys in life; one of her strongest was being an amazing cook and an extremely talented gardener. She also enjoyed many years out on the ocean with her family on their boats. She was an avid animal lover and supported animal charities. Sue had a great sense of humor and it helped her and the family through many of her troubling times. We would find ourselves laughing together and dancing around her bed right until the end. This is show she wanted it. She will be sorely missed but is happy now in heaven with our Dad. They will be watching over us all with smiles on their face and wanting us to do the same.
Wife of the late husband Norman W. Vail, she is survived by her three children-Norman Vail Jr. and wife Karen of Chicago, IL., Kenny Vail and fiancée Debra Asgari of Austin, TX., and Debbie and husband Shawn Egan of Waltham, Ma. Sue was the adoring grandmother of Lily and Ian Vail of Chicago, and Molly and Abby of Waltham. She is also survived by her brother David and Wendy Rich of Georgetown, Tx.
