Suzanne Donahue of Charlestown and Scituate passed away peacefully May 21, 2012,
after a valiant battle with melanoma at the age of 40. She was the beloved daughter of
David and Kathleen (Bailey) Donahue of Scituate, the devoted sister of Mark and his
wife Margaret of So. Portland, ME and Alec Donahue of Easthampton, MA. She was the
treasured aunt of Eleanor, Alice and Miles Donahue of ME, the granddaughter of the
late Eleanor and Achilles Anastos of Hingham and Kenneth and Mary Bailey of Scituate.
Born in Boston and raised in Scituate, Suzanne graduated from The Kent School and
Union College. Her life was full of enduring friendships, great travel adventures and a successful career in the financial services industry. In all aspects of life she brought people together with a gracious sense of style. Suzanne is remembered for her many kindnesses and her positive attitude. She was active with the Big Sister organization and the Melanoma Foundation of New England.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Scituate Center, on
Wednesday, May 30, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Suzanne requested donations to
the Melanoma Foundation of New England, 111 Old Rd to Nine Acre Corner, Concord,
MA 01742; NVNA /Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061 or the Melanoma Research Fund c/o Dr. F. Stephen Hodi, DFCI, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115. Dr. Hodi and his team treated Suzanne with great compassion and optimism.
