IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa Rosario
(Ristuccia) Palumbo
March 5, 1922 – April 24, 2025
Teresa Rosario Ristuccia Palumbo, age 103, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, after a long and beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family.
Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, in March 1922, Teresa was the beloved daughter of John and Josephine (Natoli) Ristuccia, who had immigrated from Sicily to build a new life in America. Raised alongside her cherished siblings—Benjamin, Rose, Joanne, Mary and John Ristuccia, all of whom predeceased her. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.. Teresa grew up deeply rooted in the values of resilience, hard work, and devotion to family.
In her early years, Teresa worked as a secretary, a role she performed with characteristic precision and pride. After marrying the love of her life, Augustine Palumbo, she embraced her greatest vocation: nurturing and caring for her family. Teresa and Augustine shared 55 devoted years of marriage, building a warm and welcoming home first in Newton, Massachusetts, and later in Scituate, Massachusetts, and Hollywood, Florida.
Teresa's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved children, Richard Palumbo of Scituate, Massachusetts, and June Sory of West Palm Beach, Florida. She was the proud grandmother of Philip Meyer of Los Angeles, California; Christopher Meyer of New York, New York; and William Meyer of Brooklyn, New York. Teresa also lovingly embraced her son's stepdaughter, Marena Gardella-as one of her own grandchildren, holding her close in heart and spirit. She is predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Hannah Hughes Meyer, whose memory she carried tenderly throughout her later years.
A woman of steadfast faith and quiet strength, Teresa was known for her gracious hospitality, exquisite sense of style, and deep commitment to creating a warm, welcoming home. Her gardens were tended with care, her table was always set with beauty, and her heart was always open to those she loved.
Teresa's life was a testament to the enduring power of family, faith, and perseverance. Her fierce spirit, gentle humor, and unwavering love will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Family and friends are invited to honor Teresa's life at a wake on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home in Cohasset, Massachusetts.
