Obituary
Thomas M. O'Brien, 55, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 30, 2012. His family and friends will remember his strength and determination as he preserved through many years of illness and would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at South Shore Hospital, Beth Israel Hospital and especially, Dr. Robert Seidel of Scituate.
Tom was born in Philadelphia in 1957 and moved to Scituate in 1965. He graduated from Scituate High School in 1975 and worked for many years as an equipment operator at Scituate Concrete Pipe. He was extremely proud of his work and sincerely grateful to be part of the extended Hoffman family and friends.
Tom was a natural athlete and an amazingly-talented golfer who loved being outdoors on his boat or snowmobile. He was an ardent fan of all Boston sports teams and enjoyed watching action-adventure and WWII movies.
Tom is survived by his parents, Anne "Jockie" and John Kevin O'Brien of Scituate; his beloved children, Adam O'Brien and Kristina O'Brien of Marshfield; his sister, Donna Pelletier of York, Maine; his brothers, John O'Brien of Freeport, Maine and Kevin O'Brien of North Palm Beach, Florida; and his many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Saturday, May 19, noon, at Saint Anthony Catholic Church, 10 Summer St. in Cohasset, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
