Obituary

Virginia M. (Gini) Burns, 63, of Scituate and Quincy MA, passed away October 9, 2022 from natural causes.  Born March 6, 1959, the fourth child of the late William H. and Carol (Cooney) Burns, Gini was always feisty, funny and full of life. As a child she caught the attention of everyone with her curly blonde hair and bubbly personality. Gini was exceptionally bright and fiercely independent. She will be remembered by those who knew her as having a big, beautiful heart.

A graduate of Scituate High School, Gini attended Massasoit Community College where she earned her degree in Phlebotomy. She later went on to become certified in Medical Transcription. Gini loved the beach, being around dogs and children, and was the fun aunt to her nieces and nephews as they grew up. She also dearly loved her golden retriever.

She leaves behind her sister Brenda Sportack (husband Keith) of Scituate, two brothers Edward (wife Maryann) of Johns Island SC, Steven (wife Milvia) of West Orange NJ, ten nieces and nephews and their children. Gini also had an older brother Billy, who died at birth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday October 15, 2022 at 11AM at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church, 2 Summer St., Cohasset, MA 02025.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am in the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer Street, Cohasset, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NAMI of Massachusetts at www.namimass.org.
