Virginia C. Keiter, RN- age 73, of Norwell, formerly of Whitman,  on Saturday May 19, 2012.  Beloved wife of Paul Keiter, and loving mother of Matthew J. and his wife, Anna of Grafton. Grandmother of Payton. Sister of Geraldine Fitzgerald and her husband John of Scituate.

Virginia was a graduate of Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing. Following her graduation, she began work, initially at Quincy City Hospital, then in the kidney transplant unit at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston.  She left Boston for New Orleans in 1968, where she met and married her husband.  She worked at a small private hospital there.  The couple moved back to the Boston area in 1972 and she worked for some time at the Jordan Hospital.

Virginia was a long term diet/nutrition/fitness instructor at both Diet Workshop and Weight Watchers, then opened her own instruction workshop which she ran for ten years.  She was a firm believer in walking daily to exercise her body and to maintain a clear mind.  She walked 6 miles daily for over 25 years in Norwell.

Virginia is known to both family and friends as a caring and giving woman who was always the first to offer assistance whenever any was needed.  She will be sorely missed by all.

Services and Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the St. Jude Hospital in her name.
