Throughout his young years, Bill played multiple sports including basketball and football. He went on to be a walk-on member of Boston College's football team his freshman year.  He was a long time season ticket holder which brought him back to his alma mater on a regular basis with family.  He followed his father's footsteps and was a member of Hatherly Country Club for most of his life where he met a core group, affectionately known as "The Geezers", which developed into lifelong friendships. Bill was also a resident and member of the Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club in Sarasota, FL.

Bill started his lengthy career in the food service industry at Howdy Beef n Burgers and then moved over to their little coffee and donut chain - Dunkin Donuts in 1970.  He worked at Dunkin Brands for 29 years in a variety of roles before retiring to become partners with his three children and a long time business associate, Bernie Kenney.
